Jurisdictional identity

The Sovereign Sanctuary of Mexico is the nationally recognized jurisdiction of the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Mizraim for the territory of the Mexican Republic. It operates under the guidance of the Grand World Hierophant 99° M∴S∴H∴ Mishel Arreola, who—thanks to the historical convergence of the three lineages of continental transmission—simultaneously presides over the International Sovereign Sanctuary.

This makes Mexico, in this cycle, not only another national jurisdiction, but the active seat of the World Hierophantate. This is an infrequent event in the history of the Rite and a privilege that entails operative responsibilities: international custody of the archive, issuance of patents, inter-obediential coordination.

Jurisdictional structure

Under the obedience of the Sovereign Sanctuary of Mexico, two orders of bodies operate:

Sublime Fathers of the Sacred Arcanum	34° — 66°	Administrative and doctrinal body. Guardianship of the keys of Egyptian-Hermetic-Kabbalistic symbolism.
Chambers of the Sublime Masters of the Great Work	67° — 90°	Direct heir to the Mizraim degrees. Work on theurgy, spiritual alchemy, and Kabbalistic mysteries.
National Sovereign Sanctuary	91° — 95°	Custodian degrees. Heir to the final degrees of Memphis.
Dignities from 96° to 99°	96° — 99°	International, linked to the International Sovereign Sanctuary.

The upper dignities in the current cycle are headed by M∴S∴H∴ Mishel Andrés Arreola Morales, who by the convergence of the three lineages simultaneously serves as: Grand World Hierophant 99°, M∴R∴G∴M∴ of the SGO, and T∴V∴P∴M∴ + Most Powerful Sovereign Grand Commander of the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree of Mexico.

2. Derived orders of the Sanctuary

Four para-masonic bodies directly stemming from the Sanctuary, operating under its obedience and drawing—partly or wholly—from the brothers of the Rite in Mexican jurisdiction:

• Osiris Sons — fraternal motorcycle club.
• Martinist Conventicle — Saint-Martin's heart path.
• The Black Snake — internal hermetic order.
• Ordo Templi Orientis · Thelema — linked Thelemic current.

Each of the four has its own history, symbolism, and work. Some are publicly visible, others deliberately retain opaqueness suited to their nature.

Bodies in formation (workshops from 4° onward) work under dispensation from the Sovereign Sanctuary and are incorporated into the public list once their ritual and administrative installations are consolidated.

The three dates sum up the regular lineage: 1934, post-Reuss transmission from the Sovereign Sanctuary of Belgium (Lewis-Rombauts, FUDOSI); 2003, Latin American re-chartering centered in Montevideo under the Uruguayan lineage of M∴S∴H∴ Fabio Sebastián Cruz; 2017, effective foundation of the Mexican chapter by direct junction with the convergence of the three lineages in the person of the current Hierophant.

The M∴R∴G∴M∴ and the Hierophantate

The effective direction of the Symbolic Grand Orient of Mexico corresponds to the Most Worshipful Grand Master (M∴R∴G∴M∴), elected according to the SGO constitutions and ratified by the Sovereign Sanctuary. The symbolic presidency and ultimate ritual custody correspond to the Grand World Hierophant 99° M∴S∴H∴ Mishel Arreola.

Under this model, the Mexican Masonic power combines:

• Masonic operativity under the charge of the M∴R∴G∴M∴ — assemblies, regulations, officers' roster, ritual calendar, Mexican inter-obediential relations.
• Hierophantic custody under the charge of the Grand Hierophant — ultimate meaning of the degrees, ritual validity, transmission of the high bodies, communion with the International Sanctuary.

It is not a double head: it is the classical architecture of the Rite since Marconis, restored loyally in its Mexican form.

Line of filiation of the jurisdiction

The Mexican jurisdiction receives its ritual validity from three convergent lineages in the person of the Grand Hierophant M∴S∴H∴ Mishel Arreola:

1. Anglo-Saxon lineage — Lewis → Cox → Cruz → Arreola. Heir to the Egyptian Rose-Croix of the Yarker-Lewis tradition.
2. Afro-Atlantean lineage — Jean-Maine → Bertiaux → Cruz → Arreola. Heir to the Voodoo-Gnostic and Ancient O.T.O of Haiti.
3. Regular continental European lineage — Ambelain → Kloppel → Castelli → Gaudart de Soulages → Cruz → Arreola. Heir to the Paris-Italy-Spain axis of Ambelain Memphis-Misraïm.
